Tuition for the 2008 - 2009 School Year
The tuition costs for the 2008-2009 school can be found on the following tables. All students are charged a $25 registration fee (one per student) in addition to those tuition rates. Registration fee waivers are available for some programs and are outlined below. New students who join a program midway through a semester may be eligible for prorated tuition. Late registration fees apply to returning private lesson students and intensive dance students as described below. For information about financial assistance, click here.
Payment options:
- Payment is accepted by cash (exact change), check payable to "University of Hartford"), or credit card: Master Card, Discover, and American Express.
- A 10% deposit (minimum) is required for all programs
- Intensive Dance students have the option of 8 installments and are charged a slightly higher tuition rate to accommodate this billing option.
- Adults taking a single dance class must pay in full prior to their class.
- BILLS for remaining balances are now sent VIA EMAIL.

If your family is enrolled in more than one concurrent Hartt Community Division program, you are eligible for a 10% discount on the program with the lowest tuition under the following conditions/exceptions:
- No discounts are offered for summer programs, or programs that run for less than 10 consecutive weeks.
- Each family is eligible for one discount per year.
- University of Hartford faculty & staff may apply a 10% discount to their tuition or that of their children for all programs. Additional discounts do not apply. Discounts cannot exceed 10% for any program or student.
- Hartt faculty and staff may apply a 10% discount to their tuition or that of their children for all programs. Additional discounts do not apply. Discounts cannot exceed 10% for any program or student. Additional Hartt discounts may apply. Inquire within.
- Year-long Registration!
The following rates for private music instrustion are based on a 34-week school year. The Middletown and South Windsor satellites follow a 32-week year, however, the reduced rates apply only to residents of the respective town. Non-residents pay the traditional lesson rate.
A deposit of 10% is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance can be paid in 4 installments throughout the school year as billed by the University of Hartford. Failure to pay according to billing dates will result in default charges in addition to all tuition and fees.
*All students must pay a $25 registration fee in addition to the tuition outlined below unless they register prior to August 1st for the school year. Students registering after the start of the school year will incur a late fee of $30 in addition to all tuition and fees. New students can receive prorated tuition depending upon their start date and may not be assessed the late fee.

*Please note that weekly group classes are included in the Suzuki String, Suzuki Flute and Suzuki Guitar Rates. Students who study at the main campus, in Glastonbury or Simsbury follow regular rates for tuition. Monthly group classes are included in the Suzuki piano tuition rates. Individuals taking lessons in South Windsor or Middletown pay the satellite rate only if they are residents of that town; otherwise follow the traditional rates as a non-resident.

The following ensembles are designed for pre-college students. Tuition rates are given per year as registration for these ensembles is only available for yearlong study. Chamber music tuition is includes 24 coachings per year. Free or reduced tuition is available to all students who take private lessons through the Community Division, as noted below.

Dance Classes are available for children ages 3 and up. Classes are run for a 36-week school year. Registration fee of $25 will be waived for registrations received on or before August 20th 2007

All Teen & Adult classes require a minimum of 8 students to run. Please purchase your dance card or pass at least 24 hours ahead of the class you plan on attending. Those interchanging between classes should call ahead to ensure the class is running. Thank you.

The more serious dancer may choose to begin a comprehensive dance curriculum with instruction two days a week and increasing up to six days per week depending upon the student's area of focus (either ballet or modern theatre dance). For this program, three payment plans are available: to pay the full year, to pay twice a year, or to pay eight installments throughout the year.
