Tuition for the 2007 - 2008 School Year
The tuition costs for the 2007-2008 school can be found on the following tables. All students are charged a $15 registration fee (one per student per semester) in addition to those tuition rates. Registration fee waivers are available for some programs and are outlined below. Late registration fees apply to returning private lesson students and intensive dance students as described below.

Payment is accepted by cash (exact change), check (payable to “ University of Hartford ”), or credit card: VISA, Master Card, Discover, and American Express.

In most programs, at least 1/2 payment is required at the time of registration. Returning private music lesson students may register during our early registration period and pay a $50 deposit followed by 2 equal installments billed by the University of Hartford.
- Intensive Dance students have the option of 8 installments and are charged a slightly higher tuition rate to accommodate this billing option.
- Adults taking a single dance class must pay in full prior to their class.

Discounts may apply as follows:

- University of Hartford faculty & staff may apply a 10% discount to their tuition or that of their children for all programs. Additional discounts do not apply. Discounts cannot exceed 10% for any program.
- Hartt faculty and staff may apply a 10% discount to their tuition or that of their children for all programs. Additional discounts do not apply. Discounts cannot exceed 10% for any program. Hartt CD Private Lesson discounts for ensembles applies regardless of Private Lesson study.
Private Music Lessons
The following rates for private music instrustion are based on a 17-week semester. The Middletown and South Windsor satellites follow a 16-week semester. However, the reduced rates apply only to residents of the respective town. Non-residents pay the traditional lesson rate.
*All students must pay a $15 registration fee in addition to the tuition outlined below. Returning private lesson students who submit a signed registration form with a $50 deposit prior to August 1st for the fall and January 1st for the spring semesters are exempt from paying the $15 registration fee. All returning students who register after the start of the semester must pay a $30 late registration fee in addition to their tuition and $15 registration fee. All new private lesson students must pay the $15 registration fee for their first semester of study.

Instrumental and Vocal Ensembles
The following ensembles are designed for pre-college students. Tuition rates are given per year as registration for these ensembles is only available for yearlong study. Chamber music tuition is includes 24 coachings per year. Free or reduced tuition is available to all students who take private lessons through the Community Division, as noted below.

Dance Department: General Program
Dance Classes are available for children ages 3 and up. Classes are run for a 36-week school year. Registration fee of $15 will be waived for registrations received on or before August 20th 2007

Dance Department: Intensive Program
The more serious dancer may choose to begin a comprehensive dance curriculum with instruction two days a week and increasing up to six days per week depending upon the student's area of focus (either ballet or modern theatre dance). For this program, three payment plans are available: to pay the full year, to pay twice a year, or to pay eight installments throughout the year.

Students in the Intensive Program may also choose to take an additional class in the level above where they are studying now, by invitation only (speak to Susan Brooker). The additional tuition for the year is as follows:
