Our Dance Department offers classes in many areas of interest and ability for ages three and up. Youngsters can start out with pre-ballet, tap, jazz, and more. Adults can take flamenco, ballet, salsa and many others. Additionally, students of all ages can participate in our Summer Programs. Our Dance Department carries on the tradition of the School of the Hartford Ballet and the School of Dance Connecticut. Classes are held in professional facilities located at the Mort & Irma Handel Performing Arts Center (on the corner of Albany Avenue & Westborne Parkway) and at Simsmore Square on route 10 in Simsbury. The more serious dancer may choose to get involved in the Intensive Program. These students begin a comprehensive dance curriculum with a focus on either ballet or modern dance. Instruction is given two days a week and increasing up to six days per week depending upon the track that the student chooses to take.
