Our Dance Department offers classes in many areas of interest and ability for ages three and up. Youngsters can start out with pre-ballet, tap, jazz, and more. Adults can take flamenco, ballet, salsa and many others. Additionally, students of all ages can participate in our Summer Programs.
Our Dance Department carries on the tradition of the School of the Hartford Ballet and the School of Dance Connecticut. Classes are held in professional facilities located at the Hartford Courant Arts Center on Niles Street in Hartford (off Sigourney Street between Asylum and Farmington) and at Simsmore Square on route 10 in Simsbury.
The more serious dancer may choose to get involved in the Intensive Program. These students begin a comprehensive dance curriculum with a focus on either ballet or modern dance. Instruction is given two days a week and increasing up to six days per week depending upon the track that the student chooses to take.

Take the Sisson Avenue exit (left hand exit)
Turn right onto Sisson Avenue at the end of the ramp

Take the first left onto Niles Street

From North, South or East of Hartford:
Take I-84 West (I-91 will connect to I-84 in Hartford)
Take the Sigourney Street Exit
Turn right onto Sigourney Street at the end of the ramp
Cross over Farmington Avenue
Take your first left onto Niles Street
We are located in the single story white building with green trim on your left behind the community garden
Note: Do not park on the Farmington Avenue side of our building. The entrance on Farmington Avenue is locked and not accessible. Cars will be towed. All cars must park in the designated parking lot on Niles Street. The entrance to the Hartt Dance and Opera Center is on the Niles Street side.

Take exit 35-B
Follow Route 218 West for approximately 4 miles
At the Junction of Route 185, take a right (follow to end)
Take a right onto Route 10, Hopmeadow Street
Simsmore Square is on the right about a mile down the road

As you come down the hill, you will see a yellow building in front of you. Drive to the left of the building, our entrance is on this side. Take exit 1
Follow directions for I-91
From Route 44 - Albany Avenue
Take Route 10 North
Simsmore Square is a shopping center on the right.
