The Hartt School Community Division announces the formation of three newly organized dance performance groups. The rehearsal and performance activities of these ensembles will be an integral part of the dance experience at the Hartt Community Division.
Le Grand Ensemble
Le Grande Ensemble is designed for the serious and dedicated students in levels D, E and F of the Intensive Ballet Program. Le Grande Ensemble will perform in the December, April and June concerts produced by the Hartt Community Division. Additional activities will include participation in various regional dance concerts and demonstration performances in local schools. The goal for the ensemble is to compete in international dance competitions and to perform at major dance festivals.

Rehearsals: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday
Repertoire: 60% classical ballet, 20% contemporary ballet, 20% modern dance

The New Ensemble
The New Ensemble is for the serious and dedicated dance student in level C, D, or E/F of the Intensive Ballet or Contemporary Dance programs. The group will perform in the December, April and June concerts produced by the Hartt Community Division as well as in several public and private school lecture demonstrations. Students should be prepared to rehearse on Monday and Saturdays in addition to their weekly dance technique classes.

Repertoire: 45% ballet, 45% modern, 10% jazz

The Petite Concert Ensemble
The Petite Concert Ensemble is designed for the younger dancer wishing to increase his/her performance opportunities. The group is geared towards students in the Foundation II, A and B levels of the Hartt Community Division dance program. Placement is by audition and is open to anyone who can commit to adding Saturday rehearsals to their schedule of weekly dance technique classes. This ensemble will perform in the December and June concerts produced by the Hartt Community Division and may be called upon for other special events or performances.
