Adults of all interests and abilities will find something to suit them at Hartt.

Instrumental Ensembles for the Adult Musician

Adults who have experience on their instrument may choose one of many different types of chamber ensembles designed for students who want a small ensemble with study in the rich repertoire of that type of literature. Intermediate string students can enjoy Joza Karas Adult String Ensemble which meets regularly on Saturdays and performs occasionally throughout the year. Led by David Gibson, members enjoy wonderful social time and enriching musical instruction and performance opportunities as they study string orchestral repertoire.

Adult Chamber Choir - New!

We now offer a chamber choir for adults with talent, although formal training is not needed. Click here for more information.  Led by vocal instructor Noah Glynn.  Rehearsals are on Sundays from 6:30-8pm at Hartt, room 342.

Early Music Ensemble - New!

New this year we are offering 3 10-week sessions for all types of string, wind and percussion adults and teens who would like to learn more about playing the styles and repertoire of the Renaissance. Classes meet Thursday evenings from 6:30-8pm and are led by Laura Mazza-Dixon, viola da gamba player and early music professional. Click here for more information. Private Music Lessons

We offer private music lessons in voice, piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium/baritone, tuba, and percussion. Regardless of your experience, whether a beginner, intermediate or advanced, learn from the best teachers in the area and bring your musical studies to the next level. Classes

For adults who are not yet ready for private lesson study, or may be hesitant to commit to private lessons at the beginning level, we offer group classes for adults in piano and voice. We have selected teachers who specialize in working with adults in a group setting making your experience educational, enjoyable and socially rewarding.
